Dave McGrath - Marine Biologist. Dave is currently lecturing in the RTC. Dave is a wonderful teacher and enthusiast on the marine world.
Sabina Springer – Zoologist. Sabina has a special interest in otters and is an artist who specialises in natural history, drawing.
Michael Gibbons - Archeologist. Michael is an experienced archaeologist, born in Clifden with a great love of Conamara.
Cillian Roden – Freelance scientist. Cillian is an experienced ecologist with a great interest in Conamara - a brilliant communicator.
Stephen McCormack – Zoologist. Stephen has a special interest in the world of ‘creeping creatures’ and an interest in bogs and wetlands.
Eugenie Regan - Ecologist. With a broad knowledge of Irish natural history with particular interest to the world of ‘mini beasts’.
Leo Hallissey – Teacher/environmentalist. Leo, an experienced teacher, has been involved in environmental education for the last 25 years.

Inishbofin is a beautiful island off the Connemara coast. It has a population of almost two hundred people with a long history of occupation dating back to the Stone Age. It has several prehistoric sites; an early Christian monastery and a star shaped fort dating to the 17th century. The island is about five miles long by four miles wide and has a variety of habitats ideal for exploring, ranging from the sea stacks and promontory forts in the north-west to the dramatic cliffs in the north east. Beautiful meadows full of wild flowers. Excellent beaches and swimming facilities, and hail or sunshine we’ll swim daily!!

VENUE Inishbofin Island off the Conamara coast DEPARTUREFerry departs from Cleggan – 8 miles from Clifden . Ferries leave daily at 11.30 a.m. – 2.00 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. – the journey is 40 minutes on a fully equipped modern ferryboat.----------------------------------------- ACCOMMODATION The island has three intimate hotels.
