Music workshops for all ages – classes start at 11.30am and finish at 3.30pm. 

 

Cost:  10.00 per child;  15.00 per adult.

 

Fiddle Workshop – with the celebrated musician and teacher Tola Custy from Co. Clare.

Concertina Workshop – with Michelle Mulcahy of the famous Mulcahy family.  An experienced teacher and wonderful musician.

General Workshop (all instruments) – Bog Week welcomes the great Frank Custy one of the best known music teachers in the country with many illustrious pupils such as Sharon Shannon, Mary Custy.

 

The great local duo of the Kane Sisters Liz and Yvonne, two of Irelands finest young fiddlers joined by guest Michelle Mulcahy, Tola Custy and lots more.

 

Wonderful musicians with the great Mary Staunton, an outstanding box player and singer and the celebrated John Hoban, multi instrumentalist and fine singer / songwriter with lots of guests.

Seamus Heneghan – lovely box player from Louisburg will be joined by lots of guests for a good session.

 

Bog Week welcomes back from America the well known Muirella Murray who has been touring with ‘Cherish the Ladies’.  She will be joined by the Clare fiddler Tola Custy with lots of guests and dancers.

The Angklung Instant Orchestra with Nico Browne and Martin Brunsden.  This is a very special gig for young people but they should bring an adult.  Nico and Martin will be working in the schools and the children will all know about this orchestra, so if you want fun, be there!

 

The Hostel Gig with the legendary Frankie Lane – one of Irelands finest singer / songwriters.  A class musician and a great singer.  A mighty night of music and a candlelit dinner – all for just 20.00.

 

The wonderful Dermot Byrne accordion maestro and long time member of Altan will be joined by the great Tim Edey – multi instrumentalist and lots of friends.

 

Conor Keane one of Irelands foremost accordion players from Co. Clare with his wife Máire on flute joined by the well known singer / guitarist Tommy Carew.  A mighty night of rousing music with lots of guests.

Sean nós Workshop with the outstanding Cunningham family.

Adults 10.00.  Under 16’s 5.00.

 

A great session with the English born fiddler Mick Conneely and the Belmullet box player Dave Munnelly.  An outstanding duo with lots of guests.

 

The final session with a fabulous line up will include Mick Kinsella – one of Ireland’s finest harmonica players; Josephine Marsh –box player; the great Conor Keane – box and two of our own - Johnny Connolly and Liz Kane.  They all have composed some special tunes in honor of Conamara for the occasion, and they will be ‘freed’ on the night.
